FIFA likely to give green light after Serie A makes request for extra transfer window ahead of football Club World Cup

Serie A, which will feature two competing clubs, Inter Milan and Juventus has officially requested an additional transfer window from June 1-10. Which would still allow clubs to register players before the tournament starts. Instead of having to wait until July 1 as usual.

FIFA is expected to approve the request, having initially proposed the idea to help teams trade ahead of the Club World Cup on June 15.

The upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is already prompting changes in European football. The FIGC, acting swiftly, endorsed the Lega Serie A’s request for an extra transfer window in June 2025, just before the competition kicks off.

According to ‘Football Italia’, the governing body of Calcio submitted the request to the FIGC on Thursday afternoon, and the approval came within hours.
